Real Bride Spotlight: Loral

Updated: Mar 13, 2020

High school sweethearts, Loral and Alex, were married in a beautiful December wedding. Continue reading for more on their elegant, wintery wedding!

We met at church when Alex moved here in 4th grade. We were in children's choir together and then both participated in our church’s youth group. Because we had known each other for so long, we were best friends. We spent every Sunday together and on one high school retreat, we stayed up late talking. A few days later on October 27th, 2010 we began dating.

Alex proposed to me October 25th, 2015. We had just been to a Taylor Swift concert (our favorite artist) and we drove to the church to pick up a few things. When we pulled in, there were candles, Christmas lights, and rose petals behind the church by the river. Alex walked me to the ring and got down on one knee. Our families and friends emerged from their hiding places and celebrated with us.

I always knew I wanted a wedding during Christmas time, but I didn’t want it to be over the top "holiday". We had more of a rustic winter theme. Our colors were red and gold and we had a lot of birch tree accents.

Alex and I are both practicing Catholics and being able to have a full Mass for our wedding was our favorite part. We were able to sit and be still without worrying about anything and just enjoying each other’s presence.

I knew I wanted a ball gown with lace and a sweetheart neckline and this dress had all 3! The lace is definitely my favorite and added detail without overpowering my introverted personality.

My Wedding Angels experience was amazing! Cindi let me try on one dress in every silhouette, so I knew I wanted that ball gown shape. She always listened to me and helped me figure out what parts I did and did not like about dresses. My dress was actually the first dress I picked out! She perfectly matched my veil that didn’t cover the lace. Every alterations appointment was so simple and I was always greeted so warmly when I came in the door.
