Ringing in 2018 with reflection and excitement

Updated: Mar 13, 2020

Wedding Angels Bridal Boutique owner Jacquie Westney looks back on 2017 and what’s ahead for 2018.

Last year was quite a ride for the Wedding Angels team! We met more brides that became friends and had fun with mothers of the brides, bridesmaids and grooms. We created some truly gorgeous wedding invitations and stationery, and participated in some amazing styled shoots with our friend-ors. We welcomed 3 new staff members, had the most amazing New York Bridal Fashion Week experiences, and launched a new website!

As we look forward to all that this next year brings, I wanted to take the time to thank all of our brides, their families, our staff and vendor friends that make this life so fun. The Wedding Angels team is honored to have the opportunity to be a part of your wedding memories.

Before I found my calling in the bridal industry, I was working in corporate America. I actually purchased my bridal gown from Wedding Angels Bridal Boutique in 2005. Little did I know at that time, I was “saying yes to the dress” and a whole lot more! Karin, who is celebrating her 14th anniversary as our store manager, was my bridal consultant. Six months after my wedding, I found myself looking for a drastic career change and God had a plan for me! A chance social engagement landed me chatting with the former owners of Wedding Angels, and they suggested in jest that they might be willing to sell the boutique. I couldn’t sleep for the rest of the weekend, just based on that one comment made in a joking manner. I was immediately consumed with the idea of a new career in the bridal fashion industry; reigniting the passion that I had discovered for all-things-wedding while we were planning our own wedding. That was a Saturday evening in May. On the following Monday morning, I sent a letter of intent to purchase the boutique. I left my corporate job two months later and have been surrounded by bridal gowns ever since!

I always say that Wedding Angels is my “first born child.” Now, my adorable husband and I have been married for eleven years, and have three little boys. Yes, you read it correctly – I have three boys and a bridal boutique! There’s an idea for a TV show, huh? Owning Wedding Angels has allowed me to embrace motherhood while nurturing my creative side. Since the birth of our boys, I am especially grateful for the much needed feminine influence in my life! With a nine year old and twin five-year-olds, my days in the boutique are my sanity.

I care deeply about the experience our brides, their bridesmaids, mothers, grooms and friends and family have – from start to finish. You are the reason we are celebrating our 20th anniversary this year! Our “team of Angels” is a close-knit one. We are family and we count our brides among our family too. When you choose to purchase attire for your wedding at Wedding Angels Bridal Boutique, you have my word that every member of our team will go above and beyond to exceed your expectations. Your dreams are our reality, and your patronage makes our dreams reality every day.

Warmly,

Jacquie

What an inspiring story of passion, perseverance and the joy of bridal fashion! It's wonderful to see how Jacquie's chance encounter led her to find her true calling. Her dedication to creating an exceptional experience for each bride reminds me of the serendipitous connections one can make, almost like a chance meeting on omegle new. Wishing the Wedding Angels team continued success in the years ahead!
