Real Bride Spotlight: Jacqui

Following an epic proposal, real Bride Jacqui and her husband Austin enjoyed a gorgeous, outdoor garden wedding.

My husband Austin and I met online. We had similar interests, such as our jobs and family that we instantly connected. He actually picked me up on the first date and met my WHOLE family, not intentionally, but he was a trooper.

He wanted to take me ice skating at the Avalon in Alpharetta at their outdoor ice rink but when we got there they informed us that it was closed for the winter, it was 30 degrees and snowing, but we had a good laugh about it and  ended up doing the traditional dinner and movie.

We actually went on our second date the very next day.

We dated for over a year prior to us getting engaged. In February 2017, he proposed on stage at the Fox Theater in Atlanta after the Phantom of the Opera play. He knew that was my favorite play of all time so he knew he had to make it special.

Our wedding was very laid-back. We are a very simple couple and don't like a lot of glitz and glam. We had our bridesmaids wear long navy dresses, of their choice, and our groomsmen wear charcoal gray suits with navy ties and gold tie bars.

I love lush greenery so I make sure that I had a lot of it in my bridal bouquet.

My favorite memory of the wedding day was actually seeing Austin as I walked down the aisle, I did not want to do a first look with him so it didn't ruin the magic of the day. When I saw his face, I didn't see anyone else in the world.

I actually got my dress fairly early in the Wedding planning process. I heard of Wedding Angels Boutique through Cassie on The Bert Show. I saw her Instagram story and being a curvy girl myself, I loved that they had tons of options for all sizes.

I was initially so nervous when I arrived that I wouldn't find a dress that fit me or that I would like. I had Leslie, who is amazing, help me find the dress of my dreams. To my surprise, the first dress I tried on was actually BIG on me! I was shocked.

Each dress was more beautiful than the next. I envisioned myself in a completely different dress style then the one I chose. I didn't think it would look good on my body type, but once I tried on the Essence of Australia dress I knew it was my dream dress.

I never looked so beautiful. I immediately saw myself marrying Austin in this dress. Once she put the veil on I knew i would never find anything else that could beat it. The detailing in the bodice was so beautifully done and the lace was exquisite. It fit perfectly in our outside garden ceremony.

My advice to future brides when its comes time to find a dress is to be open to any and all styles. You may think you know what looks best on you but try different styles. Also, don't be discouraged if there is a dress that does not fit you correctly. Alterations do wonders to the dress! Have fun, relax and you will look beautiful on your wedding day.
