Meet Our Team: Alicia

Updated: Mar 13, 2020

Meet Alicia, one of the amazing women who makes up our Wedding Angels team! She's our fabulous customer service manager who loves Audrey Hepburn, red lipstick, and a Stella Artois at happy hour.

Q: What is your guilty pleasure?

A: Candy is my “Achilles heel”. Willy Wonka and I are on a first name basis. To my dentist, if you are reading this- this is all a lie. I love to floss and eat nothing but vegetables.

Q: What are your 3 favorite wedding gowns right now?

A: 1. Mikaella Bridal style 2193. This dress is so lightweight! The skirt has a great movement to it and would be perfect for the bride who wants the epitome of a flowing skirt. The bodice provides a nice contrast with a structured top and features the French lace that this designer is known for. Mikaella is a family owned Canadian design company and one of my personal favorite designers.

2. Alvina Valenta style 9703. Mikado is one of my favorite fabrics. It provides a wrinkle free, structured, heavy feel (without being super heavy). The twisted bow on the bust-line is what separates this dress from all the others! It is great for the bust-line- for brides who are smaller chested this detail will be flattering for the top. Pair this with a long veil and it is a done deal! This is from New York design powerhouse, JLM Couture.

3. Essense of Australia style 2446. This dress is featured by the designer as one of their “Every Body, Every Bride” dresses. We have it in two sizes- including one in a plus size. This dress is so soft with French tulle and features an organic cotton lace. The off the shoulder neckline shows a beautiful décolletage. Vintage, romantic vibes is what this dress is all about.

Q: If you were to get married or renew your vows next week, what would you grab from the boutique and wear?

A: It I could escape to have a beach wedding I would wear Mikaella Bridal style 2107. I won’t look like the model in this picture (sorry future husband) but I love that this dress combines an air of sophistication with a sleek and casualness. Perfect for the sand!

Q: What do you love most about the wedding industry?

A: Menswear! The trends for men are nothing like they used to. I love styling and fitting our grooms, groomsmen, and dads. The guys always reach out to us after the wedding to comment how easy (and surprisingly fun) the process is with us. I love seeing guys feel confident and excited as they see we have the perfect fit for them- whether it be ultra slim, extra long, grey plaid, or cobalt. (The brides love it too that we can wrangle in the men…and that no one is in a powder blue tux with ruffles.)

Q: What is your favorite part of being a Wedding Angel?

A: I love that everyone is different! Our brides and their fiancées are all unique with their own stories, styles, and shapes. We get to experience their joy and happiness by making their dreams become reality. We provide direction but also provide an excellent set of ears as we really “listen” to brides throughout their journeys here. (We have some Mr. Potato Ears here for extra listening capability.) Additionally, nothing will go according to plan when planning a wedding. We become personally involved with each of our girls- from little “snafus” to major unplanned life events during the course of the bride being with us.

Q: What are some of your favorite details?

A: I love a mix of nontraditional elements in traditional bridal gowns. That sounds like an oxymoron but if you know my personal style- it makes sense lol. Plunging necklines, crepe fabric, unique lace patterns, and semi sheer bodices are some of my favorite things (I just hummed that to the tune of Julie Andrews “Some of My Favorite Things lol).
